I read that caption in Ron Howard’s voice.

I’m just so apathetic about Community’s season finale possibly being its last episode. I feel like I want it to be done. This season has been miss after miss with only a few hits. Just think it could only get worse the longer it goes especially with Megan gone now.

I am more excited for tonight’s Office tbh,

“Abed sees Jeff [who is portrayed as a Jeff-in-the-box] as a big talking head with limited practical functionality, and he sees Pierce [portrayed as a teddy bear] as maybe deserving of more love than he gets, and sees Troy as a soldier, and sees Britta [who’s portrayed as a robot] as a malfunctioning device, and sees Annie [portrayed as a ballerina] as a creature of grace, and sees Shirley as a big baby who feels entitled to the Christmas of her choosing.” -Dan Harmon

here’s why i really liked this: abed seems genuinely impressed by troy here. he seems completely ready to fake surprise when the snake pops out of the can, and the look of amazement in his eyes when he tells troy “nice” is so atypical for abed because i don’t think he’s used to drawing delight from surprise. usually his enjoyment comes from routine, predictable things because in his life surprises are usually bad.

also: i love it when troy is ironic. like with his halloween story. I don’t think troy has a good academic understanding of what irony is but he has a really good intuitive grasp of it (another way he is like britta)

troy was also the one who had the idea to expand the blanket fort to adult proportions, btw. there used to be more to their relationship than troy pining after abed.

I once thought that the natural progression of this relationship was that Troy would grow into Abed’s champion. He would chisel out a little space in real life for Abed to exist unmarred and through his sacrifice towards that end he would become a man…. But wow was I ever wrong,

Yeah, Season 3 opened up a lot of really interesting potentialities with how their friendship would evolve.  But they haven’t followed up on that at all.

It feels like they’re just repeating old beats now.  It feels like that with a lot of the relationship dynamics, actually.
